Quote and safety questions

The numbers do not replace a site assessment or safe access plan.

For a product-specific full schedule, BMI Redland describes its free QuantMaster service for tiles, slates, underlay, fittings, accessories, battens and lead-replacement flashing. It asks for dimensioned project drawings and says a schedule is expected within three working days after the required information is received. This is a BMI technical service, not a neutral instant calculator or a specification for other brands.

Fixing design is separate from that material schedule. BMI Redland’s free FixMaster tool produces a pitched-roof fixing specification in seven steps, and BMI says it weighs geometry, location and exposure.

FixMaster assumes the site is not more than halfway up a steep hill, not bordered by open space in a town and not surrounded by tall buildings. BMI directs those cases to its technical services team, so the tool is not a universal or other-brand fixing design.

Marley’s own technical services take a different form: an integrated, Marley-specific suite covering fixing specifications, material estimates, NBS documents and solar design.

Ask whether scaffolding, disposal, VAT and special fittings are included.
Ask how hidden repairs and changes will be approved and priced.
Ask what workmanship and product guarantees apply.
Do not walk on an unassessed roof to gather measurements.
